How to get from Krabi Airport to Krabi town or Ao Nang in Krabi. It is quite easy. There are two good options the Krabi airport bus or the taxi. The taxi is 500 baht the airport bus is 150 baht. Both will go to your hotel!
Cheapest way Krabi Airport to Krabi town or Ao Nang
The cheapest way to get from Krabi Airport to Krabi town or Ao Nang is the airport bus (a white bus with blue letters on the outside)
Get tickets for the bus to Krabi town or Ao Nang
When you get out of the immigration and pass the “something to declare” exit you will see a desk on your right side. There you can get tickets. A yellow ticket to Ao Nang and a pink ticket to Krabi town. This is important for the moment you have to switch š On 2/3 of the ride you have to switch the bus when you go to Krabi town. When you go to Ao Nang you can stay in the bus. (But always listen to the bus driver and co for instructions.)
Why I prefer the bus to Ao Nang š
When you have your ticket go to the exit of the Krabi airport and look for the employees of the bus. Give them the name of your and they will line up the route. Awesome thing the bus will drop you at your hotel! The ride will take 45 / 50 minutes to Ao Nang depending on the amount of people in the bus.

The taxi from Krabi airport to Ao Nang is 500 baht. When you don’t want to wait on the bus you can split the costs with two other travelers and you pay almost the same price when you go by the bus.

August 25, 2019 update: Apparently no one knows about the 150 bhat public bus from ao nang to the airport?? Bus stops are still there on the street….. But I’ve been here for 4 days and haven’t seen the ubiquitous white bus one time. Not once. Usually you see them on the streets (this is my third visit). I took the bus to ao nang from the airport just days ago so it does exist. Not sure about ao nang to the airport though? Alternatively, you can walk into the lobby at Ibis hotel, pass the front desk, to a travel desk, and get a 150bhat ticket to the airport in a private shuttle. I’m a guest here at Ibis and was surprised to find this deal for the same price as the public bus.

Hi Alexandra, yes every hour between 08:00 and 20:00 you should be fine with the public bus from Krabi airport to Ao Nang beach š They also go when they are full as they have multiple.

Hi Maggie, from my understanding the earliest bus from AO Nang to the Airport will go at 6AM. You can contact an local travel agent/ or your hotel/hostel and will be able to get a shuttle pick you up from your hotel or hostel in Ao Nang š

I’m not sure about that to be honest, they say they work from 8am – 8pm approx. I wouldn’t count on it at 8.30.

The bus is bringing you to your hotel and stops along the way to drop some other people to their hotel. It isn’t a hop on hop off bus system. You might have an advantage to look into a shared cab and take a cab yourself after you’ve been to Kolobi Noodle. (otherwise just go straight to AO Nang, there are plenty good restaurants in Ao Nang)

This is a helpful post, but I feel like the taxi vs bus option is 1 million times better. We took the bus today and it took almost an hour an half to get to Ao Nang. After that, they took us a small restaurant from where we caught the long tail boat, rather than the main pier. The long tail boat from the restaurant required significantly more wading than the normal pier which was tough with luggage. I cannot recommend taking the taxi enough – the bus option was almost a traumatic experience.
Thank you for your comment Shivan! In some cases the taxi can be a great option too. Some people like to save money and don’t care about the time. I think it is an way way to travel and everyone should decide if they rather take the taxi or bus.

I’m not sure about that, I would ask some local agencies on the day you arrive. Otherwise a taxi is always an option but more expensive. But as more people need to get the airplane I’m pretty sure there should be a bus. Have a great trip Josef!

I can’t help you with that as I never made that trip. Best way is to see a travel agent and check what the local bus prices are. I can imagine that they have busses from Ao Nang to Krabi Town Night Market.

Hi Flouise, You go to the desk at Krabi airport, tell them you hotel and they will bring you there š (sometimes they do one separate stop to split the people from Krabi Town and Ao Nang) I’m not sure till when the busses are riding but 5PM shouldn’t be a problem! Have a great trip!

Where do you go to the Full Moon Party? As the big Full Moon Party is on Koh Phangan.
Often people fly to oh Samui and take the ferry from there to Koh Phangan to visit the Full Moon Party.
I recommend to book your accommodation in advance as often its booked out / only expensive accommodation left.

Hi Colvera, I never did that trip so I cant help you there. As I look on Google maps the distance will be more or less the same. So I can imagine the costs will be roughly the same. Also another option is to get to Ao Nang or Krabi town and get a taxi there š

Yes they will have, I had to be at the airport myself at 7, just arrange a spot in a van at one of the agents in Ao Nang or Krabi Town. Enjoy your stay!

Hi Douglas, I’ve been there in August. Rain season depends, its still warm and sometimes a shower. There are a lot of options from Krabi to go to. Like the islands in front of Krabi for example. Easy to book boat tickets in Ao Nang.

Hi Elsabe, you can book at all the travelagents in Ao Nang or Krabi Town. Most of the time they don’t pick you up but you’ve to be there at the travel agency. If you pay a little bit more, they will pick you up at your hotel. š Tip, book the bus to the airport at an agency close to you hostel or hostel in Ao Nang or Krabi Town.

There is no bus to Railay beach, you have to take a boat. You can book that on in Ao Nang or Krabi town š Phra Nang I don’t know about. But it is easy to book the boat near the beach. Have a great time Lyaila!
