You want to go from Suvarnabhumi airport (BKK) in Bangkok to Don Muaeng airport (DMK)? The cheapest option is the shuttlebus. They will ride between the two airports from 5.00 am till 24.00.
In times there can be traffic jam they will go every 12 minutes. Otherwise they will go every 30 minutes.
Follow the signs to the shuttlebus on the airport. Show the guy behind the desk your flighticket that day on the other airport. Get the stamp and wait for the bus.

When you arrived on one of the airports and have another flight on the other airport. Often international (intercontinental) flights arrive on Suvarnabhumi airport and the domestic and Asia flight are departing from Don Muaeng airport (DMK). If you dont have a ticket but still want to take the shuttlebus (for example if your flight is the next day and you have a hotel arround the other airport ór whatever) just make a fake ticket. Click here to make a fake ticket.
The shuttle bus departs from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi on the 2nd Floor (arrivals) outside Door 3. The shuttle bus service is clearly sign-posted from the arrivals hall.
For passengers going from Don Muang to Suvarnabhumi airport, the shuttle bus departs from outside the passenger terminal at Don Muang and is clearly sign-posted.

Didn't know about this free shuttle bus, wonderful option! Used the (almost free ;) ) shuttle bus to Soi Rambuttri a few times... also a fast and good ride when staying in BKK
Landing in BKK (Suvarnabhumi) at 6:00 in the morning on a Sunday. Carrying only hand luggage.. is it possible to transfer to a domestic flight from DonMuang that departs 10:00?
I realize that this post might not receive any answers in time, but would still appreciate any answers as this would be helpful information for other travellers.
I have scoured the internet for this information but only found information about the shuttle bus - not any useful information about realistic transfer time. Most netizens claim the bus takes one hour, others claim they have spent 3 hrs in traffic jams and arrived too late for departure.. Any detailed information on realistic transfer time would be greatly appreciated:)
Hi Martin,
That should be fine, I did it with only 3 hours in between and perfect on time! Otherwise, if you're not sure, take a taxi. But I think you will be alright. Most domestic flights you can check in till 1 hour before the flight. Have a nice trip!
Hi!
I need to go from Don Muageng to Suvarnabhumi on the 12th of april in the afternoon, but my flight departs at 2:00 on the 13th, could I get the shuttle?
I would make a fake ticket, if you can't try your puppy eyes :D
Thank you so much for this very useful information. I tried the fake ticket generator though but I did not see DMK in the list of airports. Have you tired using it for creating a ticket from DMK?
Hi Myrtha, you can always download the PDF, export it to word and change the airport or other details :D Enjoy your time in Thailand!
Hi.
I will be landing in BKK (Suvarnabhumi) on a Thursday at 7.20 am and need to be at BMK airport for a connecting flight at 11.15 am on the same day.
Does anyone know whether I would have enough time to do both a visa on arrival and get the free shuttle to catch my flight on time?
Any help would be appreciated :)
That shouldn't be a problem Valerie. Enjoy your time in Bangkok and Thailand.
Hello
We plan to go on october, sadly didnt get the best fare and connection to Ching may is smoehow set exactly against our trip....so we got to options:
Arriving 7:20 to BKK idealy and:
9:20 Air Asia from DMK
11:50 Air Asia from DMK
You can see that the times are extremly tight 2hrs (probably even not possible) or long 5hrs....so i just want to assure myself, there is not much i can do and the 5hrs is the way right?
Thak you
There isn't much you can do. Although you can always get some nice Thai massages in between flights! Nice meal as well and time will fly without even knowing it.
:D
Hi!
I am arriving at BKK at 6:50 in the morning, and need to catch a flight from Don Mueang at 9:25 the same day.
I would of course take a taxi, but still, the time is short. But would it be doable?
Jonathan
I think it would be doable. taxi shouldn't be a problem.
I am arriving at BKK at 4:10 AM in the morning, and need to catch a flight from Don Mueang to Phuket at 8:30 the same day. I will take my flight on time? visa on arrival at Bangkok airport.
Hi Sagar, that shouldn't be a problem! Let us know how your trip went! Cheers :)
Hi just wondering how long the shuttle busfrom Don Muang to Suvarnabhumi takes when leaving at 6pm
Hi Chris, I cant say that as it all depends on the traffic jam that day and moment.
Landing BKK 10pm then going to hotel next morning go back take shuttle from BKK to DMK and catch my AirAsia flight question is do I need a fake ticket or am I okay? George
A fake ticket is easy to make right? Just do it, no risks there :)
