When you stay in Thakek and want to do the motorbike loop you can rent a motorbike at the travelers lodge. But there are cheaper options to rent an motorbike in Thakhek.
I rented my motorbike an Wang Wang, it is a shop in the center on Thakhek. I paid 60.000 kip a day (6 euro or $7.5). That was the cheapest I could find. We rode the motorbike loop from Thakhek in three days on the bikes without any problems. We choose the semi automatic bikes because the were cheaper than automatic bikes and easy to ride.
Wang Wang is the name of the son of the owner. A nice guy who talks good English. Bring always your passport to the motorbikeshop. Wang Wang doesn’t accept ID cards for renting a motorbike.
You can find Wang Wang in the center of Thakhek, see the map below. It is next to the ATM and close to nice streetfood. When you want to rent a bike eat there first and pick up yout bike late. (You rent the bike for 24 hours so the third or fourth day you can bring him back late)

Hi,
where did you left your buggage??
Thanks
Thank you for your question Leticia, I left my luggage at the motorbike rental and only took my small backpack on the trip.
Often they also have a place in the hostel where you can book your nights around the Thakhek trip.
Enjoy!
