Packinglist Cycling holiday #TourduEurope

A lot of people ask me what I bring on a big cycletrip like this. In the article below I’ll show you the list what I bring on this trip. I did two cycling holidays before (one month each) but never this long so I’m curious as well!

My bicycle

Starting with the bike. It is a Cortina. That is a dutch brand cycle. Three years ago this was the cheapest good bike I could find. And after 6000km I’m still happy with my Cortina bike. It is a 27 speed. In Switzerland I used all my gears to get over the Alps. The bike weight is around 16kg.

The cycling bags

The bags I use for this cycling trip are all from Thule. They weight 1.1 kg and are waterproof. Even my daypack resist water for sure. The bags are highly reflective for good visibility.

In the cyclingbags

In my daypack I’ll carry my electronics like GoPro, Phone and stuff I want to get quick when it is nessesary. Like a rain jacket or meal.

Clothes

My two cycling outfits and windjack are from Futurum Quality Gear. That is the special brand of Futurumshop.nl. Beside that I bring some other clothes:

  • 4 underwear
  • 4 socks
  • 1 pants
  • 1 sports pants
  • 1 sweatshirt
  • 2 shorts
  • 4 t-shirts
  • 1 shoes
  • 1 flip flops
  • 1 raincoat

Extra sportsfood

I got some sport meals from sportvoedingwebshop.com. You can make them on the road and give you tons of energie. 100g gives 384 kcal with the right proportions of protein and vitamins. I will use them in regions where it is hard to find some good meals. I will bring some protein powder for the moments I have hard stages to recover. Beside that I’ve 10 energy bars for moments I need some quick and good energy.

Camping gear for my cycling tour

This bicycle trip I will camp as well. v Duinkerken gave me a sleeping bag and camping mattress and tentspot gave me a nice Coleman tent for my trip.

Other stuff I will bring on this cycling trip

  • Multitool
  • Bike repair stuff
  • 2 additional spokes
  • 2 additional innertubes
  • Bike navigation
  • Additional lock
  • Pump
  • Helmet
  • Camping plug
  • Knive
  • Lighter
  • Flashlight
  • Toiletpaper
  • Pen and paper
  • Towels
  • Suncream
  • Tiger balm
  • Medicines
  • Sunglasses

Personal stuff

  • Lenses
  • Glasses
  • Toiletry

Everything I carry will be on the back of my bike. It is around 18kg. If you miss something very important just use the comments below. Let’s help other people in the feauture!
