The Hot Air Balloon in Vang Vieng one of my peak moments on my worldtrip so far! I avoided the tubing yesterday because we had to wake up at 5.45 and had a pickup from our hotel in Vang Vieng at 6.00.
We saw the sunrise in the Hot Air Balloon. What a view. I thought I was dreaming! What a view! The sun was coming from behind the mountains and was fully orange.

The travelagent started at $80 we tried to negotiate in several travel shops in Vang Vieng but they said all the same $80. We also booked the bustickets to Vientiane and Chang Mai so we get the Hot Air Balloon for $78 each.
There are three different times you can go. In the morning at 6.15am and 7.15am. Then in the afternoon at 4.30pm. But depends also on the number of people who have booked the balloon.

Where did you buy the Hot Air Balloon Tickets? We’re planning to go there this September to experience the Hot Air Balloon ride at sunrise. We’re planning not to book a guesthouse, just go straight to the Hot Air Balloon activity then ride a night bus to Luang Prabang. Nice post by the way.
You can book them at one of the agencies in Vang Vieng. That is most of the time way cheaper than book the tickets online 🙂 Have fun!
