Do you want to do something good on your backpacktrip? Last week I spoke to these guys, they have an awesome charity project in Thailand right know. Sadly I already bought my ticket and arranged my visum but I’ll keep it in mind for the next time!
I’ll support them with my like! For every like €0,10 will be donated by a sponsor. Like as well! Click here.
Building water systems and toilets in Myanmar. Distributing children books in Laos. Constructing a primary school in Thailand. Helping disabled children in Zambia. Establishing 10 footballclubs in Vietnam. And many things still to come.
Community of Backpacking for Charity
This is a summary of what Brian van der Heijden (27) and Joost de Man (24) are accomplishing at the moment during their worldtrip. In August the two Dutchmen founded Backpacking for Charity in order to combine the pleasure of traveling with helping the underprivileged in each country they visit. The exciting part of their story is that they let their members vote on which country they will go next every time.
Brian quit his job as car salesman, and Joost graduated in finance. They collected the charity money by initiating some projects (like setting a record by playing the billiards for 38 hours in a row), sponsors, and members who donate at least 1 euro a month. Only those members can read their blogs, and only those members can vote on their next destination. An interactive charity worldtrip, where 100% of the donations will be spend on charity projects. No administration costs. No salaries. Just charity.
