Street Food Tour in Hanoi

Street Food Tour Hanoi

For me this Hanoi food tour is a MUST DO: Writing this article I realize that I tried a lot of Vietnamese dishes from the best local restaurants in a very short period of time. I could never have done this myself. This Hanoi Food Tour is a perfect way to get a deep dive into the Vietnamese cuisine.

Street Food Tour in Hanoi

The street food tour in Hanoi began with a convenient pickup from my hotel, receiving a goody-bag, setting the stage for an evening of culinary exploration in the vibrant streets of Hanoi. We learned a lot about the fusion of French and Chinese influences in Hanoi’s food culture and delved into the historical context behind the culinary scene.

A Gastronomic Feast: Sampling Diverse Dishes

On the tour we were able to taste 10 to 12 local dishes, but after savouring seven exquisite varieties, I was pleasantly full. Each dish was a unique blend of flavors and textures, reflecting the rich culinary heritage of Vietnam. Our passionate guide provided an in-depth explanation of each dish, from the ingredients and preparation methods to the serving techniques. This added a layer of appreciation for the intricate processes behind these seemingly simple street foods.

The Stories Behind Hanoi’s Food and Restaurants

What made the tour more fascinating was learning about the background of each restaurant we visited. These establishments, often small and unassuming, had rich histories and were integral parts of the local community. Also more modern facts around the meal Obama and Anthony Bourdain shared together in 2016, as we ate in the sister restaurant in Old Town.

Fluent English And Authentic Egg Coffee

Throughout the tour, our guide offered great tips and communicated effectively in English, enhancing the overall experience. A standout recommendation from our guide was the best place for authentic egg coffee, a must-try delicacy in Hanoi.

This unique beverage perfectly encapsulated the innovative spirit of the city’s culinary scene. Only a few families in Hanoi know this traditional recipe and how to blend everything together. We tried several places and this one was our favorite.

Real Street Food Tour Hanoi

The tour was an unscripted and interactive street food adventure. It was a 3-hour unique local food experience with more culinary samplings than we could eat! Great thing about the tour was that the Hanoi Food Tour was crafted based on travelers’ taste and feedback, ensuring we had an unforgettable journey through Hanoi’s culinary landscape. After Halong Bay and Ninh Binh probably come back a second time to try the rest of all delicious dishes!
