China as a backpacker

Wauw China! I’ll never forget you. When you are in China as a backpacker it is easy to travel. Trains, subway, busses and airplanes are good. The local bus is only one or two rmb. The subway is also 2 RMB. The long distance busses are not realy expensive and have good connections. The train is amazing. I prefer the hardseat for the normal and long trips (over 7 hours) and the hard sleeper for the real long distances. The hard sleeper is a bed and is sometimes better than a cheap hostel. I think China is a save coutry to backpack and travel. Hostels are cheap and the staff is nice. They want to help you with everything. Just ask for a note for the bus, train or other thing you need.

10 RMB is 1.30 euro

Forbidden city Beijing

Today the Forbidden City was open! What a big building definetly one of the highlights of Beijing. After the forbidden city is the Jingshan Park with a nice view at the Forbidden City and the rest of Beijing. At Jingshan park old people are exercising and have a good time with eachother. After a hotpot fastfood lunch with Megan I catched the train at 16.30 to Xi’an. 12 hours resting 🙂 only thing is that my train arrived 6.30 in the morning. At the train station I took a motorbike taxi to my first 5 dollar hostel. Warriors international Hostel.

Nightmarket Beijing

After my french friends were gone I found a dutch guy and a American girl to hangout. Finaly we end up in the mc Donalds at 2.30 it was worth it 🙂 Today I went to the forbidden city, but it was closed! Try it tomorrow again. After the failure I went to the night market to eat “something” strange. I tryed a normal Chinese kebab and the scorpion. It was nice, like if you eating a crunchy chickenskin. In the evening I ate in the hostel together with two girls a normal big burger with fries.

Summer Palace Beijing

This morning I had to wake up early again, the kind French friends asked me to join them to the Summer Palace, sure! It was amazing to see. It’s created around 1370 or something. But that big! Unfurtunatly we couldn’t rent a boat becouse of the hard wind but the environment was amazing. After the Summer Palace we went to the big Tiananmen square next to the Forbidden City. This evening I booked my train ticket to Xi’an for Tuesday. In the evening the hostel was real good with some nice other travelers from Canada, The Netherlands and Germany. Tomorrow I’ll visit the Forbidden city and hopefully I’ve some time left to visit WebPower Beijing!

Beijing to the Great wall!

This morning a had to wake up very early, we booked a trip at 8.00. At 7.15 the breakfast was ready. A nice American breakfast with eggs, sauseges, bacon and toast. After 1.5 hours in a bus we arrived at the great wall. We took the cablelift to the first part. We got 3 hours to walk on The Great Wall (one of the 7 world wonders) When you want to see the old part is was a hard walk, but i want to see the old and new part and a little further because of the toboggan so that was even a harder walk. But I made made it and it was worth it! After getting down we had a real good Chinese lunch and drove home by bus. After some chilling in the hostel we went shopping in a big shoppingmall (I bought a Go Pro selfie stick) toke the subway to a real Chinese restaurant for it famous Peking Duck. Wow that tasted good. After a walk home and sharing some video’s I slept like a baby again!

The flight to Beijing

Today day I was up early. I slept wel and finished my checklist for the trip. On the airport there were a lot of friends who want to say me goodbye, that’s very nice!

Everything goes fast, the time the plane, and before I know I was in Moskow. I thought I had to wait four hours but because of the different timezone it was only two hours 😀

So next flight was to Beijing, the real goal for the start of my adventure. When I arrived in Beijing there was a taxidriver waiting for me and in 30 minutes I checked-in at the Sanlutin Youth Hostel. A cosy hostel, I directly met some French people. The next dat we booked a trip to the great wall. In the evening there was a Halloween party at the hostel. I dronk a few bears till 23.00 and slept like a baby!
