Cycling the Xian citywall

After arriving I just relaxed and met three new travelmates from Germany, Australia and the UK. We biked on the citywall of Xian. Its touristic but defenitly something you have to do when you’re in Xi’an. After getting hungry from biking we had lunch. We tried a lot of streetfood (even chickenfeet) and the famous dish (yángróu páomó) in the Muslim area. It’s lambsoup with bread and noodles. In the evening we ate at a local restaurant, drunk some beers and a bottle of baijiu! (Nice ricewine).

Xian train station to Warriors Youth hostel in Xian

You can grap a taxi (15/20rmb), take bus 103 (1 rmb), go with the subway (2 rmb) or ask a guy on a motorcycle (15 rmb) to bring you to the Warriors Youth Hostel. The last option was nice!

The Warriors Youth Hostel is a good and clean hostel with comfortable beds. I like the place!

When you’re going by the taxi, ask the taximeter. When you take the motorcycle negotiate before. When the city is busy avoid the traffic and take the subway 🙂

Summer Palace Beijing

This morning I had to wake up early again, the kind French friends asked me to join them to the Summer Palace, sure! It was amazing to see. It’s created around 1370 or something. But that big! Unfurtunatly we couldn’t rent a boat becouse of the hard wind but the environment was amazing. After the Summer Palace we went to the big Tiananmen square next to the Forbidden City. This evening I booked my train ticket to Xi’an for Tuesday. In the evening the hostel was real good with some nice other travelers from Canada, The Netherlands and Germany. Tomorrow I’ll visit the Forbidden city and hopefully I’ve some time left to visit WebPower Beijing!
