Nightlife in Chengdu, Helens, Jellyfish and Barstreet
After the trip to Kangding we stayed in the Lazy Bones hostel again. In Chengdu we have been out three days and had some awesome nights!
I like this hostel! The staff is kind the service and the food in the restaurant is good as well. I slept in a 8 person dorm. Everyday the lady’s clean the bathroom and normal room. When you need a description the staff at the reception is always available to help you and write a note for you. For example a trainticket or for another trip.
The Lazy bones hostel has different activities. So you can try hotpot for free, get a cooking course or enjoy the free citywalk.
From Chengdu you can visit a couple of places who have Tibetian influences. They selling the Yak meat and you will see buildings and flags in Tibetian style. This villages/city’s are nice to visit and will give you an other view on China.
I visited Kangding. It is 9 hours from Chengdu by bus. We saw a lot of roadworkers so maybe you can get there faster if they aren’t there.
From Chengdu to get to the Leshan Giant Budha will take 2.5 / 3 hours by bus. You can go from your hostel to the big busstation Xin Nan Men. The long distance bus will cost 47 rmb for a oneway ticket. At the station in Leshan you can get a shuttlebus (5 rmb) or bus 13 (2 rmb) to the Eastgate or Westgate.
When you want to see the Panda’s in Chengdu the you can book a tour at your hostel or travel on yourself.
Get bus one (2 rmb) to the north and get out on the last stop (big busstation) Get in bus 87 (2 rmb)
When you’re lucky the people who sell the traintickets speak English. The best way to arrange a trainticket is with a note from the hostel. Every hostel will write a note for you. It’s way easier with this note. Check before you go if there are traintickets en write the number of the train on the note aswell.
