Cycling in Bangkok with biketour!

I’m from Holland and like to bike. So yesterday I had an amazing experiance! I did a biketour trough Bangkok. We saw local markets, Chinatown, Tempels, local sports, Flowermarket and tasted different kind of snacks on our way trough small lanes and traffic. I think when you want to see the real Bangkok and want to see how the local people are living, the biketour is a nice option. I did the Bangkok biketour of 4.5 hours including some drinks, local snacks and even a dr. Fish treatment at the end.

Cycling the Xian citywall

After arriving I just relaxed and met three new travelmates from Germany, Australia and the UK. We biked on the citywall of Xian. Its touristic but defenitly something you have to do when you’re in Xi’an. After getting hungry from biking we had lunch. We tried a lot of streetfood (even chickenfeet) and the famous dish (yángróu páomó) in the Muslim area. It’s lambsoup with bread and noodles. In the evening we ate at a local restaurant, drunk some beers and a bottle of baijiu! (Nice ricewine).

Xian train station to Warriors Youth hostel in Xian

You can grap a taxi (15/20rmb), take bus 103 (1 rmb), go with the subway (2 rmb) or ask a guy on a motorcycle (15 rmb) to bring you to the Warriors Youth Hostel. The last option was nice!

The Warriors Youth Hostel is a good and clean hostel with comfortable beds. I like the place!

When you’re going by the taxi, ask the taximeter. When you take the motorcycle negotiate before. When the city is busy avoid the traffic and take the subway 🙂

Bed and breakfast Lauenburg

On my cyclingtrip through Germany I slept in the “Bed and Breakfast” of Hans and Anne that is situated in the small village of Buchhorst, belonging to the town of Lauenburg. Lauenburg is a small town near the Elbe. So the Bed and Breakfast is perfect for cyclists who are cycling the Elbe rad weg.

Cycling the St. Gotthard Pass…. Wauw!

Update #tourdupisa: the day of surprises… Also this night i slept real good in my Hostel in Andermatt. Packed my bag and on my way to the Coop supermarket for some stuff. Bananas, Bread, Sweety’s. I picked my energy gels out of my big bags into my small food bag. I dont know if its the morning or something else but the climb directly killed my legs. In the begin i spotted a sign 9 km with 630mtr up. Auw! another 7% climb. In the middle of the climb i found the ritm so that was nice. But 2km before the top there was en cobble stone road. Killed my legs another time. On the top of te st Gotthard Pass i toke a little rest so i can in a good condition downhill. On the road walked some cows with bells, real Swiss! Roads with no sidewalls and a max of 68 km/h downhill. Downhill thats nice! But the managers of the tour du pisa had something i didn’t expect. Another climb! 6 km with 5.5% steepness. In the beginning so steep that you can hear me scream for my mother i guess. Yesterday i found and booked a camping place ware i would go but that was behind another steep hill. My legs were killed 3 times today so i biked around the hill and found the camping. On my way i thought of some things where i can compare this stage with; i think a labor with twins.
