Nice to see on the Boattrip Sihanoukville is the Absinthe distillery on a tropical island.
We started our Boattrip Sihanoukville at Blame Canada beach bar at 10.30. It was a perfect time after a night out. There are different boattours from the beach but this one was nice! You’ll pay $15 for the whole day including a free shotgun beer and lunch.
My stay at the Mad Monkey hostel in Phnom Penh was great. The real food is good the staff is nice en helpfull. The dorms rooms are clean and the bunkbeds are from steal an big! The matrasses are tick.
The reception of the Mad Monkey hostel is accross the street but you’ll find it. They offer tours and busrides to almost everywhere. Ask Dara, the Cambodia guy who can speak real good English. Otherwise they arrange a private taxi so you can go. The loundry service is a little expensive so better wash your clothes somewhere elke when you want to save money ($2 a kilo)
My stay at the Footprints hostel in Sihanoukville was awesome. You can stay there from $5 a night. The beds are good and the accomodation clean. You’ve several options in the Footprints hostel. You’ve private rooms, normal dorms ánd dorms just next to the sea. When you want to sleep in the “open air” the last option will be great. (all the beds in the Footprints hostel have mosquito nets) They have a lot of beds in a building above the bar without walls. So you can see and hear the sea when you’re in your bed.
A nice activity on Koh Rong is to rent a kayak. Do some exercise when you’re party on the Island. You can easy kayak from Tiu beach (main beach) to Kaoh Toch the little island in front of the beach and after that go to Long Set Beach. Thats one if the beautiful beaches on Koh Rong.
The people in Cambodia are so friendly. Most of the time no is no even by tuktuk drivers! But also in the social talk they really want to speak with you without try to sell something. They like to learn English and a lot of Cambodia do speak English.
Siem Reap is a nice place to go, from there you can easy take busses to other places like Bangkok Phnom Pehn, Sihanoukville and Kompot.
I took the nightbus (depart at 19.00) from Siem Reap to Sihanoukville. It is an 12 hours drive on bumpy roads and the beds are not that big. But I heard a tip. Just eat a small happy pizza before you go and you’ll sleep like a baby.
When you’re arrived in Sihanoukville there you have to go to Serendipity street. Thats the place where the boats depart to Koh Rong. When you get out of the bus there will be tuktuks ($4) motor taxi’s ($2) or guys who want to sell you a boat tickets and bring you for free to the boat. (you will arrive at 7.00) the first boat departs at 8.00.
